Dam management automation with the zenon software platform and EXOR panels

An excellent example of this is the dam management automation project implemented by the company ELKON d.o.o. from Podgorica, a certified COPA-DATA partner. The project also included testing sensors to monitor the shape and height of the dam so that the user could perform certain internal analyses, detect vibrations and react in time to prevent damage from the occurrence of strong waves, and determine whether it has reliable monitoring of the height of the dam so that the same sensors can be used in further projects to accurately position the height of the dam and thus to monitor the upstream water level.

ELKON found the ideal solution from the software and hardware side in the combination of the zenon software platform and EXOR int. panel PC.

Special benefits are presented through a couple of key points:

• Sensors developed by the end user can be connected to RS485 or with the help of a specific converter to a USB port to a PC - EXOR Panel PC supports both variants
• The size of the display that the Panel PC has allowed for better visibility and the full potential of process visualization in the zenon software
• A special GUI application has been developed for the Windows environment - Panel PC is based on Windows OS
• Simple integration of the GUI application via Add-In into the zenon software platform
• The Panel PC can be accessed via the Internet through zenon for easy monitoring of the process at any time
