USER EXPERIENCE - A Complete Solution for Electrical Design and Automation with WSCAD

BGW Electronics is a company specialized in designing electrical installations for both high and low voltage, automation, cabinet manufacturing, PLC and SCADA programming, as well as implementing KNX installations, video surveillance, and alarm systems. Before switching to WSCAD, they faced challenges in producing complete documentation for electrical cabinets. In the following interview, Dražen from BGW electronics shares how WSCAD helped them improve and speed up their work.

Why did you choose WSCAD software?
We chose WSCAD based on recommendations from several partners who were using the software and were satisfied with the results.

What were the biggest challenges before you started using WSCAD?
The main challenge was creating complete documentation related to the design and production of electrical cabinets, which was time-consuming and complex.

How did WSCAD help you overcome these challenges?
WSCAD provided a complete solution for producing documentation for our projects, including parts lists, wiring, and other elements that help us from the beginning of the process — from material ordering to actual production — and significantly reduce the time needed for execution.

Which WSCAD features have been the most useful to you?
Since we use all the available features, it's hard to single out one, as we need them all. However, the export to PDF or DWG formats stands out, as most of our documentation is prepared in those formats.

How much have you been able to speed up or simplify your daily work thanks to WSCAD?
Our daily work has significantly accelerated thanks to WSCAD.

Can you give a specific example of a project where WSCAD was especially helpful?
It was particularly helpful on the Colas Hrastovljan gravel plant project. As the project involved a large number of conveyor belts, material dispensers, and sensors, WSCAD's capabilities made it easier to develop the PLC program.

What was your experience with implementation and support?
We have only words of praise for the EXOR ETI team when it comes to implementation and support — especially Elvis and Gašper, who are always available and quickly resolve any issues.

Would you recommend WSCAD to others in your field? Why?
Absolutely! WSCAD significantly speeds up the production process and also improves it — in a relatively short time, you get all the necessary data for your project, which helps accelerate the entire workflow, from material procurement and cabinet dimensioning to wiring and PLC programming.
