  • Optimized solution for building automation
  • Numerous interfaces: Easy integration with other systems and tools
  • Compatibility and standards: Supports international standards and is compatible with various CAD tools

Starting from the ELECTRIX AI version, WSCAD uses SQLite instead of Microsoft Access for working with databases. This means greater stability, faster performance, and complete independence from MS Office. There are no more issues with Access versions, data loss, or errors when opening projects. SQLite does not require an SQL server and works locally, without additional installations. All existing projects are automatically converted, with no need for manual work. This change brings a more reliable and simpler engineering environment.

WSCAD is much more than just an ECAD tool – it is a comprehensive platform that enables you to enhance your electrical design processes and improve efficiency at a competitive price.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers for WSCAD ELECTRIX (FAQ)

1. How do I activate and transfer a WSCAD ELECTRIX license?
Print

The license is activated through the online licensing system, either to a PC or to a USB dongle. To transfer it to another computer, deactivate it on the old device and then reactivate it through the same online system.

2. What are the minimum system requirements, and does the software run on the latest versions of Windows?
Print

Minimum system requirements: Windows 10/11 64-bit, Dual-Core 2 GHz processor, 8 GB RAM, 4 GB disk space, and a graphics card with basic OpenGL ES 2.0 support. The software fully supports the latest versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11.

3. How do I import DWG or DXF and keep the layers?
Print

ELECTRIX keeps DWG/DXF layers intact during import. You can manage layer visibility and assign them to WSCAD layers during the import wizard. Imported elements maintain their original structure.

4. How can I transfer existing projects from other software or older WSCAD versions into ELECTRIX?
Print

You can transfer existing projects into ELECTRIX in several ways.
Most commonly, this is done via DWG/DXF import, where elements can be mapped or fully converted into the WSCAD format using the Convert to WSCAD format option. You can also import materials, BOM lists and component data via the Material Explorer.

Older WSCAD projects can be migrated through the WSCAD SUITE conversion process, which acts as a bridge format. ELECTRIX is capable of opening and converting even very old projects, including versions 4.0 and 5.0 — more than 20 years old.

5. How do I import libraries and symbols from wscaduniverse.com?
Print

Components and symbols can be downloaded and imported directly into the ELECTRIX database. Larger libraries can be brought in using batch import via CSV/Excel.

6. How do I create and share my own symbols?
Print

Custom symbols are created in the Symbol Editor, where graphical elements, pins, functions and data points can be defined. Save them into your user library (Options → Settings → Directories → Libraries).
Since symbols are stored as individual files, they can be shared by copying the library to a shared network folder or exporting/importing individual symbols. Larger teams can set a shared library directory to ensure consistency.

7. Is automated schematic generation supported?
Print

Yes. WSCAD ELECTRIX supports automated schematic and project generation via Project Wizard. Based on predefined templates, macros or data tables, the system can automatically generate electrical schematics, PLC modules, single-line diagrams and project documentation—ideal for repetitive or standardized projects.

8. Where can I find manuals, courses and video tutorials for learning WSCAD?
Print

EXOR ETI, the local distributor and partner, provides live and online training. Webinars are available on the EXOR ETI YouTube channel and on the official WSCAD website.

9. Is there a trial version of the software?
Print

Yes. A 30-day trial with ULTIMATE functionality is available, allowing full evaluation of modules, project creation, data import and automation features before purchasing.

10. What is a Macro Template Project?
Print

A Macro Template Project is a dedicated project type for efficient creation and management of macros. WSCAD automatically organizes created macros into predefined folders and structures, enabling systematic preparation of macro libraries for later use in automation or project generation.

11. Does ELECTRIX support 3D cabinet layout?
Print

Yes. ELECTRIX includes a 3D view for cabinet engineering, allowing visual placement of components, dimension checks, spacing, collision detection and layout verification. This improves accuracy and reduces assembly errors.
